So, so many centipedes. I can feel them crawling through the ship! We are slowly finding answers as to why the Vengeance is here, and we plan to take some of that crew’s personal effects back to the Vesk Embassy on Absalom Station. Most of the ship is not salvageable, and we haven’t found any remains of the crew (centipedes?!?). We have found a few sealed storage lockers, amd I got myself a nice industrial welder and some (dead) batteries. I was going to save the welder to keep with my tools, but oddly enough, it looks like ysoki design, so I may use it as a weapon if any of those centipedes try to get close to me. Again. Ewww.

Everybody’s goin’ off the deep end
This wreck is a… wreck. We’ve set up a few titanium lines to hold ourselves out of the swampiness of the crash site. I kept feeling some other creature moving around inside the Vengeance, but, surprise! another centipede. I really don’t like them at all! I am also sad to say that, if we are getting paid by via salvage, we may be losing money. The drift drive is… corroded. The engineering section… everything is rusted through. We haven’t even been much past engineering. We will be blowing a hatch between sections to head towards the front of the ship. Or, maybe, a gentle knock on the hatch, and it will just fall off.
Catch Me I’m Falling
So, I’m completely over any desire to visit this planet! We couldn’t find any ground firm enough to land on near the wreck, so Ash decided to climb off a rope onto some trees while the ship (well, Brock) attempted to hover. The trees had other ideas, and tentacles (vines?), so he threw himself past the trees to the ground. Looks to be a nearly 80′ drop. Regular atmosphere, gravity, and hey, there was some firm ground! Ash did eventually stand up, in time to be attacked by the largest centipedes I ever saw. But by then, we had burnt down the vines, and the trees, so we were able to get close enough to the ground for him to get back on the rope and hauled up.
Anyway. We found the wreck! And it looks to be in pretty bad shape. It’s partially submerged in the moors, the hull is pitted, but it looks like the engine is still above the waterline. And it has its own giant centipedes circling it. Did I ever mention how much I hate bugs? Not Shirren, or at least not Mez’chef, but the ones that try to bite that are waaaaay bigger than bugs should be. Don’t like them.
Wreck of the Haspis 3
So, we got a job with a Vesk called Zareth (who Sresaka has never met– she’s as bad as Lexx!), who is looking to retrieve something off a wrecked ship in the Haspis system, third planet. The trip took us nine days in drift. The coordinates of the ship Vengeance were discovered just last month, twenty-five years after its destruction, with all hands on board.
This planet kinda sucks. Literally and figuratively. I’ve never seen such marshy land. And it has volcanos, too, so the air isn’t too safe to breathe for long amounts of time. We are being paid with salvage from the rest of the ship. I hope the engineering section isn’t completely destroyed.
Workin’ for a Livin’
We got back to the Station and debriefed every job we still had open. The guy that hired us months ago to find his fiance. Someome remembered we had planned to follow up with him. However, when we went to visit him at his home, we learned he had moved out six weeks ago. Sresaka thought that maybe his fiance had missed him and sent for him on Akiton, but it doesn’t seem likely, does it?
We talked to the Eoxian embassy. No more money since we were unable to retrieve a black box for them, but the did let the AIs take some more coloring books. And crayons. And I heard, in my head, the Widget trying to convince I-9 that the table they were coloring at was meant to go with them. Argh. Will check their hoard for that before we leave port.
Via our visit to the Starfinder Society headquarters, we met a male lashunta, Zell, that Lexx had never met before. I guess Castrovel is bigger than it looks. We also met a land squid called Voozhal. He(?) seemed nice. And we got 5000cr, and (thanks to Voozhal), another shipping opportunity.
