Day 01 The Rambler's crew get another delivery job, this time to an unnamed system, requiring seventeen days in drift space. They depart as soon as they supply for the trip. Their VI, Brock, a blue badger, offers to take shifts piloting.
Day 18 The Rambler drops out of drift space in a red dwarf system, following the transponder to a hollowed-out asteroid. It appears to have sustained damage to its gun turrets, and there are no life signs.

Later, the crew leaves the Rambler in docking bay, and find a new crew member-- the maintenance robot, I-9, had been trapped on the defunct asteroid station, along with 21 people. The people seem to have disappeared, leaving clothing, food, etc. behind.

Rambler's crew eventually realize that the piles of dust they are finding everywhere are the asteroid's crew, plants, etc. They learn that they are on Osiris Station, and they are seeing the results of Project Orcus, which was meant to bring dead back to life. They collect as much information as they can from data pads, but unfortunately do not realize that a group of Eoxian ships have them in their sights until they are attempting to leave the asteroid's dock.
Day 19 The Rambler limped into drift space after a brief but horrific battle with three Eoxian fighters destroy its shields, and then break away, perhaps assuking the small frieghter wasn't woeth persuing. The crew plots a course back to Akiton for repairs to the hull, while fixing life support and the shields on the return trip, estimated to take about sixteen days.
Day 27 The Rambler sensors pick upnwhat appears to be an asteroid following it. It matches speed and course, and the crew realizes it's a creature-- specifically, a telelith, or living asteroid. Sresaka, realizing the creature is hungry, offers up the contents of the aft garbage ejection system. The telelith stops to eat and the Rambler resumes course.
