We entered the Plenara and found a table. Widget moved off towards the Eoxian ambassadors (they are very clever, always somehow knowing they might bump into Widget, and carry crayons for him). The Celi appeared to be quite curious and went around to visit each delegation’s table. They ate whatever boring plankton was prepared for them. Ash and I were asking them if it tasted OK (I was paranoid about a skittermander server that I thought might be stalking them). They admitted they have no sense of taste, just filters, really. We offered to taste different foods we liked at the banquet and provide them with telepathic, um, tastes. They were surprised that it was even possible (and so were we). We aimed for foods we liked, though I suppose any new sensation was exciting to the celi. We plan to build them something that allows “tasting” if it’s at all possible. We’re not sure their bodies can accept graphs, and we certainly didn’t was to alter the water they float in. And we aren’t sure if they get the same “flavor” if we eat something we hate.
But we will try to create something so they can understand taste. Also, this might help give the impression that the Pact Worlds are the best to join. Of course, we would do it anyway. Especially if we can somehow involve Widget. I’m not sure he can taste much, but he can smell stuff. Something to work on, if this banquet ever ends. It’s been three hours….
