The crew of the P.W.S. Please Don't Shoot Us encounters a chunk of the Dreamlands in Drift Space, and not recognizing any threat, proceed through it. Fortunately, the three AIs don't sleep, so the "live" crewmembers survive their shared nightmare and safely wake up on the other side of the microcosm, and continue on their journey.
