So we, climbed into the derelict ship and killed the rivener. It was… large. And angry. Very angry. And large. I’d say pick on someone your own size, but… Widget just freakin’ killed the thing with some of the most amazing trick shots I’ve ever seen. I don’t know whether to be proud of myself for programming him, or just be gobsmacked by how my two-pound little buddy took out something that had just slaughtered half of an expedition party and a few khefak. Widget will be insufferable now– I can already hear him softly saying, “Pew! Pew!”
I got in a shot, too, but mostly I just hid behind an overturned table with Lexx.
So, we have been here a few more days with nothing much happening. Then, while Lexx and Ash are off doing something on the other side of the depot, Sresaka, Widget, and I track down Rennie (I cannot even remember why!); we find him talking to another mechanic, staring at a datapad, looking worried. Not having much to do until the ship gets the rest of our new weapon installed, we ask what is up. Ysoki are missing! Six went out last night and did not return. Their approximate location was known; Rennie was just needing to get some others to go out and check on the situation. We offered to go. Luckily the others were back so we could go as a group.
Bad, bad things! We found their truck, right where is was supposed to be. There were two ysoki and a few khefak, all dead by the vehicle. The ship they were stripping parts from was sitting there, mostly intact. Fortunately, we could hear the weak cries of at least one hiding inside the ship. Turns out three made it inside. One is still missing. And it wasn’t the khefak that killed the others. It’s a rivener. . . .
It turns out they weren’t after us, unfortunately it means the Bone Fleet was here. Very, very bad. It’ll be a few more days before we can leave, and now we have a job to do first. On top of everything, we need to rescue several Ysoki from some mindless monster. I forget what they called it, but it sounds bad.
*Sigh*
It’s going to be a long week.
Or at least, Lexx and Ash think someone is! But let me back up a bit. Rennie told us there was an elf at the local bar/casino that could help us get info on the Aries compound we flew over on the way to Khefak Depot. Caledon did not disappoint. We’ll be taking their monthly shipment of supplies in, have a quick look, and if we’re lucky, 1000 credits for our trouble! Speaking of trouble, Lexx gave Widget gambling money. And he spent it in the casino! I don’t think he won a darn thing, but he seems quite proud of himself.
After a good night’s sleep, we were awoken by some of the depot ysoki that a Steward vessel had just arrived, landed on the other side of the depot, and the Steward was headed our way. Lexx and Ash are positive the “Taxi Police” from Absalom Station are searching the galaxy for them. We piled them into the truck with about twenty ysoki to go khefak hunting, while, Sresaka, Widget, and I stayed behind. We disguised ourselves a bit before he arrived.
Turns out the Steward is the least of anyone’s worries. He was just trying to find ships that had arrived on Akiton in the past two days. There was, apparently, an Eoxian Corpse Fleet vessel seen in orbit. Eww. They might possibly be ickier than the bug people. I’m glad we didn’t see them!
